Carbon Poker to Release Mobile AppCarbon Poker is ready to release a preview of their mobile poker app for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Merge Gaming Network skin, Carbon Poker, has announced the upcoming release of a preview of their mobile poker app. Available for use on iPhone and iPod Touch, the release represents a first in the US gaming market.

While mobile poker apps are already available, the Carbon Poker app will be the first one of its kind for any US-facing market. In order to enable US players access to the app, it has been developed as a web-based app, rather than a native app. This avoids restrictions with the Apple Store and makes it available to all customers, including US-based players.

According to a Carbon Poker representative, “CarbonRyan”, on the customer forum twoplustwo, the poker room is looking for players to trial the app as part of a special limited preview.
This will precede the release of the app to the public and it is expected to occur shortly as the app is ready to go live.

The poker app will initially offer only play money cash games, including no limit, pot limit and fixed limit hold’em games. The poker room has revealed that they plan to offer tournament and other poker variants in the future. In addition, Carbon Poker mobile games are only available for iPhone and iPod Touch, running iOS 5.0 or newer. There are plans to release Carbon Poker Android and iPad versions as well. Real money mobile poker games may be added to the offerings as well.

Poker developers are continually improving their technology and with the increasing popularity of mobile gaming, mobile poker apps are becoming more common, especially on the non US market. Microgaming has recently released Blaze Mobile poker, PKR has released an iPad poker app for UK customers and has released a poker app for Android. Ongame offers a native iOS app, 888 offers an iOS and Android app and PokerStars has also released a mobile poker app for about every system you can think on.

The new release by Carbon Poker represents a foray into new territory however, with it being the first app available to US players through a US-facing poker network. It will release the app ahead of its major competitors, including Bodog, Revolution and Winning Poker. Download Carbon Poker and sign up, to be informed the moment the app will be available.
