ACR Sit n Crush Twice a MonthThe Sit n Crush promotion trialed by Americas Cardroom in December is to be continued into the New Year and divided into two leaderboard competitions each month.

Leading US poker site Americas Cardroom has announced that, following the success of its December “Sit n Crush” promotion, the Sit n Go progressive leaderboard competition will be continued in January – but with a few changes made to its format.

For those unaware of the Americas Cardroom “Sit n Crush” promotion, players earn points for playing Sit n Go games on the site which count towards their position on a leaderboard. However, unlike most other Sit n Go leaderboard competitions, Americas Cardroom´s “Sit n Crush” promotion has a progressive payout structure which increases as more players take part in the event.

A portion of the fee paid to enter each Sit n Go game is set aside and allocated to the “Sit n Crush” prize pool. The pool is then divided between cash prizes and entries for the LSOP Super Satellite on the second Sunday of each month, in which the winners will win packages to the $1 million guaranteed Latin Series of Poker Main Event in Panama in March.

What´s New for January 2014?

The biggest change to the promotion is that it will be hosted twice each month in a similar fashion to the site´s jackpot cash game rake race “The Beast”. The first “Sit n Crush” leaderboard competition will run from the 1st of each month until 23:59 ET on the 15th of each month, when the second “Sit n Crush” leaderboard competition will commence and run through to 23:59 ET on the last day of the month.

Other changes include the removal of the $20.00 “On Demand” Sit n Go games from the competition (Heads-Up Sit n Gos are already excluded), as it was considered that those with the bankrolls to play in these tournaments were receiving an unfair advantage. ACR´s “On Demand” Sit n Go games have a weighted points allocation system to compensate for the longer period of time they take to complete, but players who were among the first twelve to register for the $20.00 SNG games were receiving a substantial number of “Sit n Crush” points in relation to what other players were receiving in “regular” Sit n GOs.

What Happened in December 2013?

The inaugural month of America Cardroom´s “Sit n Crush” promotion was a huge success. Thousands of players took part in the event and created a prize pool of almost $50,000 ($46,200 to date with two days to do). At the time of compiling this article, the top two places are pretty much sewn up, with “Jhamilton90” looking set for a $3,250+ New Year bonus, ahead of “aquilegia” who should be good for $1,650+).

Those in the top 97 places on the “Sit n Crush” leaderboard will all receive cash prizes (currently a min-cash is worth $103.28), while players filling the top 188 places will receive entries to the LSOP Panama Super Satellite which will be played on January 12th and which guarantees 10 packages to the $1 million guaranteed Main Event.

ACR New Year Reload Bonus

Completely unrelated to the Sit n Crush promotion (but worth mentioning anyway) is the Americas Cardroom New Year Reload Bonus. Americas Cardroom offers reload bonuses of 100% matches on deposits up to $200.00 at specific times each month and, by happy coincidence, the next reload bonus period starts today.

Existing players on Americas Cardroom should use the ACR reload bonus codeNEWYEAR” when making their next deposit before 23:59 ET on Friday 3rd January 2014 to receive their bonus, while players who do not yet have an America Cardroom account should use the 2014 ACR bonus code “PS1000” when funding their accounts for the first time to be eligible for a first deposit match bonus of 100% on deposits of up to $1,000.

See you at the (“Sit n Crush”) tables!
