Great news for poker fans who were upset PokerGo will only air a fraction of the 2018 WSOP events. Poker Central and Twitch announced a partnership deal to livestream an additional 31 World Series of Poker tournaments this summer.
Giving the Fans What They Want
Last week, PokerGo, Poker Central’s subscription-based app, announced it would cover the final table in 16 bracelet events, plus full coverage, along with ESPN and ESPN2, of the Main Event and $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop, with Lon McEachern and Norman Chad handling the broadcast duties.
But there is a total of 78 bracelet events this year, and that is where Twitch will come into play to livestream many of the remaining non-online tournaments. Jeff Platt and David Tuchman, a long-time WSOP commentator, will announce these events.
“Huge thanks to @PokerCentral and to @TwitchPoker for making this happen. Can’t tell you how excited I am for the summer,” Tuchman posted on Twitter.
Platt and Tuchman will be joined in the booth throughout the summer by a revolving cast of Twitch Poker personalities and other poker pros.
The action on Twitch begins June 3 at 3 pm with Day Three action of Event #5, $100,000 Super High Roller. On the following day, PokerGo will livestream the final table in this new high stakes event.
